In this video, I will demonstrate how to force a program to close using Task Manager, this might be necessary if a program has become unresponsive.
On the screen you can see this user was very close to solving Solitaire when the program stopped responding to mouse inputs. It can’t be closed using the Cross in the top right corner of the window either. So we will need to force it to close.
There are a few ways to open Task Manager. We can right click the taskbar on the bottom of the screen and select Task Manager, or we can press the Control, SHIFT and Escape keys at the same time, as shown in RED on the keyboard.
In the left column of Task Manager, there is a list of programs running on the computer. Most of these are running in the background, and you might not interact with them. Applications you do interact with are typically at the top of the list.
Find the application you wish to close and right click it. Select “End Task” from the drop down menu.
